Yu Miaojie Meets with Consul General of German Consulate General in Shenyang

On November 14, 2024, Consul General Hendrik Barkeling, Consul Beate Kayser and Protocol Assistant Wang Pengpeng of the German Consulate General in Shenyang visited Liaoning University. Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of the University met with the guests.

 

   

             

Yu Miaojie welcomed Hendrik Barkeling and his colleagues and introduced in detail Liaoning University about its achievements in discipline development, international development and cooperation with European universities. He noted that Liaoning University is committed to offering education in a global context and had established sound cooperative relations with many universities in Europe.        

The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the current international trade, the development of German enterprises in China and the economic advantages of Northeast China and Liaoning. Yu Miaojie stressed that Liaoning Province is solid in industries, complete in industrial structures, rich in natural resources, superior in geographical location and profound in cultural heritage, offering a solid foundation for economic development. He added that with the support of national policies, Liaoning Province is constantly optimizing the business environment, opening wider to the outside world so as to provide more development opportunities for domestic and foreign enterprises.

Hendrik Barkeling thanked Liaoning University for its warm reception. He expressed his expectation to further strengthen academic and people-to-people exchanges with Liaoning University and assist the internationalization of Liaoning University. Hendrik Barkeling hoped to explore more cooperation opportunities with Liaoning University, especially in promoting international cooperation of higher education.

 

 

   

Xie Mingyi, Director of the Office of International Affairs, Yin Ruyu, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs and Zeng Zhe, a professor from the German Department of School of Foreign Studies attended the meeting.
