LNU Ready to Collaborate with Far Eastern Universities

LNU’s President Yu Miaojie pointed out that China and Russia have close ties in the fields of education and economic development.
VLADIVOSTOK, September 6 /TASS/ Liaoning University (LNU) signed an agreement with the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) to launch a joint project in the direction of ‘International Business and Project Management’. The university expressed its willingness to engage in cooperation with other universities in the Far East. This will further deepen economic ties between China and Russia, Liaoning University President Yu Miaojie told TASS during the Eastern Economic Forum.
Yu Miaojie stated, “We believe that cooperation with universities in the Far East is an excellent opportunity. We recognize the close ties between our two countries in education and economic development. This is the right path for both nations. I think, if possible, Liaoning University will strive to establish cooperative relationships with more universities in the Far East, with our collaboration with the Far Eastern Federal University serving as a model”.
He further explained that the agreement between Liaoning University and the Far Eastern Federal University focuses on three areas. Firstly, an undergraduate degree program will be established, where students will study for two years each in China and Russia. “I believe this is a very good opportunity for Chinese students to understand and study Russia. It allows students to learn about both countries, explore their cultures, and exchange knowledge”, Yu Miaojie added.
Secondly, a joint master’s program will be developed. “We call it an MBA. Our university will handle admissions, while the Far Eastern Federal University will be responsible for teaching practice. Chinese entrepreneurial students will have the chance to understand Russia and its development. I think this is very beneficial for promoting cooperation between Liaoning University and the Far Eastern Federal University”, Yu Miaojie noted. Thirdly, he mentioned that an important aspect of the collaboration will be holding annual international conferences.
The Eastern Economic Forum was held from September 3 to 6 at the Far Eastern Federal University campus. The theme of the 2024 forum was ‘Far East-2030: Cooperation and Opportunity Creation’. The forum’s business activities were divided into seven thematic blocks: ‘New Horizons in International Cooperation’, ‘Technological Independence’, ‘Financial Value Systems’, ‘Russia in the Far East’, ‘People, Education, and Patriotism’, ‘Transportation and Logistics: New Routes’, and ‘Macro Planning: From Construction to Economy’. The event was organized by the Russian national company Roscongress, with TASS as the general information partner of the forum.
