On February 20, the "High-end Lecture Series" study session on the revitalization and development of Shenyang City was held. Professor Yu Miaojie, president of Liaoning University, gave a special lecture on promoting high-quality economic development and writing a new chapter for Shenyang in the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China in the new era. The lecture was attended by Wang Xinwei, member of the Provincial CPC Committee and Secretary of the Municipal CPC Committee, and Yu Xueli, Chair of the Municipal Political Consultative Conference.
Yu Miaojie is a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, a fellow of the International Economic Association, Vice President of the China Society of World Economics, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics, and Vice Chairman of the China Society of Industrial Economics. His main research areas include international trade, world economy, and Chinese economic development.
At the lecture, Yu Miaojie focused on a thorough study and implementation of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the symposium on promoting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China in the new era. He elaborated on the concepts of "one overall planning, two grasps, three integrations, four opportunities, and five important tasks," and emphasized the crucial mission of Shenyang in maintaining the national "Five Major Security" priorities. He proposed strategies to anchor the construction of the national central city, excel as a pioneer among cities of Liaoning in the new era of building “six areas”, and put forward corresponding suggestions.
The lecture was held in the form of a teleconference. Various districts, counties, and cities set up branch venues. The participants included Wang Yongwei, Yang Yuxin, Li Jun, Ma Yuan, Yang Zhihong, Zhang Yunjin, and Li Gang. Liu Zhihuan chaired the study session. Senior officials from relevant municipal units attended the study session.
