On June 6–10, Professor Yu Miaojie (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Liaoning University), Professor Ma Shuang (Director of the International Exchange Department), Professor Cui Zheng (Vice President of China Open Economic Research Institute), and Dr. Yin Ruyu (a young researcher) paid a work visit to three Russian partner universities as well as the Asia-Europe General Branch of Xinhua News Agency.
On June 6, the delegation visited the Asia-Europe General Branch of Xinhua News Agency. Its president, Fan Weiguo, introduced the developmental process and work functions of Xinhua News Agency and the Asia-Europe General Branch. Prof. Yu Miaojie then explained the work itinerary of this visit to Russia, along with the construction of “double first-class” disciplines and the construction of high-end think tanks. He stressed how much Liaoning University is willing to join the Asia-Europe General Branch of Xinhua News Agency in the cause of Sino-Russian friendship and jointly promote the new and greater development of Sino-Russian relations. The two sides reached a consensus on the research direction of think tanks, delivery channels, and the construction of exchange resources with Russia.
On June 7, the delegation visited the Economics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Awuzan, director of the Department of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, explained the development history, teaching philosophy, and scientific research institutions of the university’s Department of Economics, speaking highly of the achievements jointly made by the department and Liaoning University since 2017, particularly their joint training and exchange of students, their joint publication of teaching materials, and their joint holding of international conferences. Awuzan named Liaoning University as a key partner of the Department of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, expressing his hope to deepen academic exchanges and project cooperation with Liaoning University and provide valuable learning and exchange opportunities for teachers and students of university’s Department of Economics. Following this, Prof. Yu Miaojie explained to Director Awuzan the professional characteristics and personnel training of Liaoning University. He emphasized how Liaoning University has been actively promoting exchanges and cooperation with universities and institutions at home and abroad in order to jointly promote academic development and innovation. Through cooperation with the Department of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the two sides can learn from each other, improve their faculties’ teaching and scientific research level, and provide students with wider academic resources and opportunities. Finally, Prof. Yu stressed that the cooperation between Liaoning University and Lomonosov Moscow State University will certainly further enhance mutual understanding and friendship between students of the two countries and promote the further development of Sino-Russian relations.
Cui Zheng, on behalf of China Open Economic Research Institute of Liaoning University, renewed the cooperation agreement between the two institutions with Awzan, Director of the Department of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
