LNU Delegation Headed by President YU Paid a Successful Visit to Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation


    

    On June 8, 2023, the Liaoning University Delegation, headed by Professor YU Miaojie, President of Liaoning University, visited Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as FinU). The delegates from both universities explored the collaboration between the two universities and reached a frame agreement, followed by a signing ceremony. Professor YU was invited to give a presentation in the afternoon on Chinese Economic Development with High-Quality Growth to the undergraduate students of FinU. The visit was quite fruitful and successful. It was reported by the FinU website as a highlighted news. 


The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and Liaoning University Work Together to Cultivate Professional Talents

On June 8th, 2023, the leaders of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (“Financial University”) and a delegation from Liaoning University held talks and signed an agreement on implementing an academic exchange project. The document was jointly signed by the President of Financial University, Stanislav Prokofjev, and the President of Liaoning University, Yu Miaojie.

Stanislav Prokofjev, President of Financial University, welcomed the visitors from Liaoning University and pointed out that there is a long history of interaction between the two universities.

“Today we are entering a new era of bilateral cooperation, which will open up new horizons for students and faculty members and improve the quality of education,” emphasized President Stanislav Prokofjev. Furthermore, he added that Financial University attaches great importance to establishing links with top Chinese universities and hopes to maintain long-term and fruitful cooperation with Liaoning University.

Yu Miaojie, President of Liaoning University, highlighted the importance of cooperation with Financial University, one of the leading educational institutions in the field of Russian economic and financial education, and introduced the general overview of Liaoning University and the main prospects of the cooperation between the two universities.

During the visit, Professor Yu Miaojie also gave a lecture on the high-quality development of China’s economy for students at the School of Social Sciences and Communication of Financial University. Associate Dean of the Chinese Open Economy Research Institute at Liaoning University, Cui Zheng, introduced students to the main trends in Russia-China relations. Students also asked questions about Chinese history and culture to the two Chinese experts.

In addition, the Liaoning University delegation also held talks with the leaders of the School of Social Sciences and Communication, and both sides agreed to establish a “3+1” dual-bachelor degree program in Political Science and a “1+1” collaboration to train master’s degree students in “Public Relations (PR) and Governmental Relations (GR) in Politics and Business”. President Yu Miaojie particularly mentioned the research progress in the field of Political Science. The two universities also reached a cooperation intention to organize academic exchanges between faculty members for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Among those who attended the meeting from Financial University were Vice President for Academic and Methodological Work Yekaterina Kameneva, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Lilia Prikhodko, and Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Communication Alexander Shatilov.
