Professor Yu Miaojie Selected for Authors of Important Reprint Sources of Printed Newspaper Materials (2022)

Professor Yu Miaojie, a deputy secretary of the Party Committee and President of Liaoning University, has been selected as an author for the 2022 edition of Authors of Important Reprint Sources of Printed Newspaper Materials. The recent publication is jointly developed by the Research Center for Evaluation of Academic Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, and the Book and Newspaper Data Center of Renmin University of China.

Those selected in the 2022 edition of Authors has been developed based on full-text reprinted data of various special academic topics from printed newspaper materials over the three-year period from 2019 to 2021, as well as on the evaluative results of peer experts. The selected authors’ disciplinary classification is determined based on the main disciplinary classification of the reprinted papers.



In addition to his aforementioned roles as a deputy secretary of the Party Committee and President of Liaoning University, Prof. Yu is a deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress, a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress of Liaoning Province, and the chairman of Liaoning University’s Academic Committee and Academic Degrees Committee. He is the only Chinese economist to have ever won the Royal Economic Society Prize. Moreover, Prof. Yu is a distinguished professor of the national talents program, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, an Outstanding Young Scientist of Beijing, and a Liberal-Arts Chair Professor at Peking University. He also serves as Vice President of the China Society of World Economics, Vice President of the China Econometrics Association, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macao Studies, Secretary-General of the International Consortium for China Studies, is a member of the Economics and Trade Policy Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Commerce, and a council member of the China-US Research Think Tank Alliance (under the Ministry of Finance). Additionally, Prof. Yu is a winner of the NG Teng Fong / Sino Scholarship for Outstanding Youth and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Davis in the United States. Prof. Yu’s main fields of research encompass international trade, world economy, and China’s economic development. In addition to being among the top 1.0 percent of the most highly-cited economists in the field of economics and management, Prof. Yu has been specially invited to the United Nations Headquarters to make a report on China’s economic development.
