On the afternoon of January 30, 2023, the seminar of the 6th Hongqiao International Economic Forum was held, both online and offline, within the Qingdao-Shanghe International Expo Center.
Chen Chunjiang, a member of the Party Group and Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, began the seminar by delivering a video speech. He emphasized that 2023 is the first year to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, while also being a crucial year to carry out the 14th Five-Year Plan. Facing new circumstances and changes, at home and abroad, it’s integral to immediately determine the theme of the Hongqiao Intentional Economic Forum. Chen expressed his hope that everyone will put forward suggestions for the theme and design of the Sixth Hongqiao Intentional Economic Forum and make joint efforts to build the Forum into a high-level international economic forum with more global influence.

To make suggestions regarding the theme of the Sixth Hongqiao Forum, many experts and scholars attended the event, including: Ji Zhiye, Former President of the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations and Director of the Academic Committee; Zhang Yansheng, Chief Researcher of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges; Pan Jiaofeng, President of the China Academy of Sciences; Wang Huiyao, Chairman of CCG; Yu Miaojie, President of Liaoning University; Qu Jian, Vice President of the China Institute of Comprehensive Development and Dean of Qianhai Branch; Li Ling, Director of the China Health Development Research Center at Peking University; Fang Xingdong, Executive Director of the Internet Society of China Research Center; Wang Wen, Executive Dean of the Chongyang Financial Research Institute at Renmin University of China; Ren Zeping, Vice President of the China Private Economy Research Association; and ten others. Many international organizations also participated in the seminar, including: UNCTAD and the International Trade Center; the Ministry of Commerce; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; the Emergency Department; the General Administration of Market Supervision; the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; local provinces and cities, such as Shanghai, Shandong, Zhejiang; representative members of the Hongqiao Forum; and exhibitors from the China International Import Expo (CIIE).
Offline Venue
The seminar was hosted by the Hongqiao Forum Secretariat and undertaken by the Hongqiao Forum Research Center. In attendance were Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the China International Import Expo Bureau and executive deputy secretary-general of the Hongqiao Forum, and Ma Fengmin, financial director of the China International Import Expo Bureau and deputy secretary-general of the Hongqiao Forum. The seminar was presided over by Yu Zirong, Vice President of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce and Deputy Secretary-General of the Hongqiao Forum. More than 80 delegates attended the meeting, online and offline, in order to exchange ideas and reach a consensus, laying a solid foundation for the immediate implementation of the theme’s framework for the Sixth Hongqiao Forum.
