On October 9th, Shenyang Agricultural University celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding. Professor YU Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University, was invited to attend the ceremony and delivered a speech as a representative of domestic sister universities.
In his speech, Professor YU Miaojie firstly congratulated Shenyang Agricultural University on its 70thanniversary and pointed out that Shenyang Agricultural University, as the only agricultural university in Liaoning Province, has been at the forefront of agricultural science and technology innovation under the guidance of the Party’s education policy, accumulated and built excellent tradition and valuable humanistic spirit, cultivated more than 100,000 outstanding talents, and made important contributions to three issues of agriculture, the countryside and farmers. He pointed out that Liaoning University and Shenyang Agricultural University have similar “red genes” and cultural heritage. It is hoped that taking this 70th anniversary as a new starting point, under the guidance of General Secretary XI Jinping’s important speech, the two university will continue to cooperate extensively and deeply. The two universities will combine the productive forces of science and technology and talents cultivating resource, give full play to the advantages of basic disciplines, promote interdisciplinary, speed up the high-quality connotative development of higher education, and welcome the 20th CPC National Congress with excellent results. Finally, Professor YU Miaojie wished that Shenyang Agricultural University would make greater achievements in building the first-class university and the first-class disciplines, show greater achievements in the national strategy of promoting rural revitalization, and create a brilliant future on the journey of revitalizing development of Liaoning province and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
